Bubbles in the Bath

Oops! Someone's making bubbles in the bath! This short animation was created in Adobe Photoshop using brushes, exported into Flash (yuck!) for the animation part and then imported into Premiere Pro where music was added.
I struggled a little to get the timing correct for the moving duck and bubbles, in order to get the animation where I wanted it. But eventually got it.

My Decal

This decal was fun to make. I used Adobe Illustrator. I also had a Pazzle at home (cutting system) which a patch was added to my existing Illustrator software. Making it very easy and simple to use. The only error that occurred was the cutting tip on my machine was very dull.

Whatcom Tablet

When it comes to using Illustrator I can't help but get excited, however having to use the Watcom tablet proved to be a little more difficult that I first thought.

Having been relying solely on the mouse for the last two years, it never occurred to me that I would have better control now,  than I did two years ago. Using the pen tool was like starting all over again, the only difference is that I actually knew the program.

My Very own Gallery

Woohoo!

Working with html files and jQuery can be exciting and fun as long as everything goes smoothly and not a single error happens. So this was  one of those times. Lucky for me using Dreamweaver and Photoshop doesn't scare me too much. (a year ago I may have felt other wise.)

The one problem I ran into was that my computer wouldn't run jQuery at first then after taking a short break everything seemed to work perfectly. (when does that ever happen?)

Card Game

This weeks assignment  creating The Wall Card game proved to be very detail oriented. I probably bit off more than I could chew, but I managed to get it finished. Each card was created in Illustrator and then moved into Photoshop to a background for this photo.

Re-designed Website

I love working with Dreamweaver. Especially when I can make or recreate a website. This assignment was enjoyable and I look forward to doing more webpages in the future.

Wordpress Website

Wordpress seams easy enough, however I did run into a few issues when working with the free version.
Customizing your webpages is nearly impossible with the simple free version, I would have liked to have been able to do more.

Also on two of my pages I was unable to remove the comments.

Webpage from Photoshop

Taking a Photoshop designed image and slicing it up for a webpage was easy and simple. The only difficulty I ran into was using Dreamweaver. The spacing had to be adjusted.

Video Game

Sometimes the hardest part of creating a design is finding a theme. I decided to make a video game based on the three little pigs, but reverse the outcome, giving the wolf get his revenge. Each image was created in Adobe Illustrator, imported into Construct2.  Probably the only issue I ran into was just having enough energy to work on my homework. The whole kidney failure thing is finally starting to conflict with my school work.

2D Zeotrope Animation

This project seemed like the easiest one, but I ran into problems with making an overly detailed car image in Illustrator.

When I tired using the pathfinder tool, delete background it wouldn't let me, and when I painted over the car layer, it lost all it's detail. So, after running out of time and worn down from the used up effort, I quickly made circle and called it done.

Animated it in Adobe After Effects, and importing the avi file into Premiere Pro to add music. https://youtu.be/f2EHHZh71QA

Art Deco Poster

I was really happy with the way this poster turned out. No problems popped up other than finding the right font and placing a white trim around the edges. The poster was created in Adobe Illustrator.

Smooth Bubble Gum Font lowercase

After designing the CAPITALS for this True Type Font, creating the lowercase letters was much easier. It may have taken just as much time, but it seemed to flow better, probably because I had already created the desired style and didn't have to make several versions of each letter.
I used Adobe Illustrator for each individual vectorized glyph, and then copied and pasted each one it into Font Creator. I also decided to change the font name to Smooth Bubble Gum after checking on dafont.com and seeing the same name.

A New Kidney and a New Life

And she's back. Well now that I have a new kidney I have time to get back to the things I love and missed.

The transplant was on February 3rd. 2019. It's been life altering. I have energy again. No
dialysis. And most of all I can go camping again. With peritoneal dialysis it just became too difficult to stay clean.

I've never been one for enjoying cleaning, but with this new found energy it's nice to have the ability to do mopping, sweepping, and bending down to pick things up off the floor.

Before the kidney disease was extreme I was walking 2-3 miles a day. I hope to get back to that again. Right now i'm just taking short walks down my quarter of a mile driveway.

With this new life I've also been doing more crafts and creating new works of art.
 Stars & bunnies

I've been doing a little paper mache to get a few decorations done around the house.
I'm keeping busy until I get start working again in July. The hope is to work at a local newspaper. Where I can do Graphic art, writing, and Editing.

It's been a bit of a journey, but as a familiar jingle states. "I"m loving it!"
